What is God like? Part 1

God shares many of his attributes with his creation, there is no definitive or comprehensive list of all of these attributes however, what is of important notes is that God is not IN PROCESS. Where Human beings grow in understanding, wisdom, strength, love, self-control, kindess, peace, etc. God has all of these things in their completeness and he is not growing or improving. God is never surprised by an event in history nor is he changing. God always was, always is and always will be. Consider these verses below:

James 1:17
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Isaiah 46:9-10 “remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’”

Psalm 147:4-6
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground.”
