I. Creation: How is our conscience supposed to work?
- Romans 2:14-15

II. Fall: How does sin affect our conscience?
- 1 Timothy 4:2 Conscience can be seared.
- Titus 1:15 Conscience can become defiled.

III. Redemption: How does being a Christian change our conscience?
A. We can have a clear conscience by faith in Christ.
- 1 John 1:9
- Hebrews 10:22

B. We can have a clear conscience by depending on the Holy Spirit.
- Acts 24:16, 1 Timothy 1:5, 1 Timothy 3:9
- 2 Corinthians 1:12
- Romans 9:1

C. We can have a clear conscience by re-calibrating to the only Lord of the conscience.
- Acts 5:29
- Problem #1: Our conscience is too loose on an issue.
- Problem #2: Our conscience is too rigid on an issue.
- Example: Peter's weak conscience in Acts 10
- Weak Conscience: We are biblically allowed to do something, but our conscience accuses us that we're actually doing something really wrong.

IV. Community: How do we unite as a church with our differences?
A. We have an obligation to Christians who think differently than us. (Romans 15:1-3)
- 1 Corinthians 8:9
- Stumbling block = When we encourage others, by our freedom, to do something that is against their conscience.

B. We remember the purpose of the Bible. (Romans 15:4)

C. We keep each other in prayer. (Romans 15:5-6)

D. We welcome one another. (Romans 15:7)
