August 1 – Pray that we would stay faithful to the truth of God’s Word. “Contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” Jude 3

August 2 – Pray that our actions would shine as a light to our neighbors. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14

August 3 – Pray that we would be devoted to seeking God in prayer. “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2

August 4 – Pray that the Lehigh Valley would abandon its idols and worship the one true God. “Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!” 1 Chronicles 16:2

August 5 – Pray that Calvary kids and students would be transformed by the renewal of the mind according to the Word of God. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

August 6 – Pray that the United States and the Lehigh Valley would treat God’s name as holy. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” Matthew 6:9

August 7 – Pray that Calvary parents would faithfully and lovingly disciple their kids to follow Jesus. “You shall teach [God’s commandments] diligently to your children.” Deuteronomy 6:7

August 8 – Pray for more servants to join Jesus in His kingdom work. “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38

August 9 – Pray that we as a church would empathize with those around us. “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” Romans 12:15

August 10 – Pray that our governing leaders would fear the name of the Lord and seek His glory, not their own. “Nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.” Psalm 102:15

August 11 – Pray that both Calvary young adults and older adults would live boldly for Jesus. “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.” Philippians 3:8

August 12 – Pray for safety and God-honoring curriculum in the Lehigh Valley schools and for the teachers at Calvary to be strengthened and encouraged in Christ. “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

August 13 – Pray that Calvary would be united in Christ. “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:7

August 14 – Pray for an end to racism and for Calvary to display Gospel unity among all ethnicities. “And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth.” Acts 17:26

August 15 – Pray that we would live for God’s glory in our work and vocations. “For from Him [God] and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36

August 16 – Pray for the end of COVID-19, wisdom in the medical community, and for God to use the pandemic for His glory. “For by Him [Jesus] all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16

August 17 – Pray that we would continually celebrate God’s grace to us. “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace that was given you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Corinthians 1:4

August 18 – Pray that we would learn to mourn for those who do not know or keep God’s Word and be moved to reach out to them with the Gospel. “My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep Your law.” Psalm 119:136

August 19 – Pray that Jesus would build His Gospel community in and through us. “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

August 20 – Pray for an end to abortion and for justice for those who have no voice. “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.” Proverbs 30:8

August 21 – Pray that we would humbly confess our sins to one another. “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another.” James 5:16

August 22 – Pray that God would raise up from Calvary future missionaries who are willing to go to the ends of the earth, to the most out-of-the-way places in order to proclaim the Gospel to those who haven’t heard it. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

August 23 – Pray that we would learn to lament when faced with evil, injustice, and oppression. “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? Consider and answer me, O Lord my God.” Psalm 13:1,3a

August 24 – Pray that God would provide opportunities for you to tell your neighborhood about Jesus and the Gospel. “At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the Word, to declare the mystery of Christ.” Colossians 4:3

August 25 – Pray that Calvary husbands and wives would be faithful to their covenant vows and that those not married would be happy in Jesus. “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him and to which God has called him.” 1 Corinthians 7:17

August 26 – Pray that in our homes and church, we would exude hospitality. “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Romans 12:13

August 27 – Pray that we love others with Christ’s gentle and patient love. “A bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not quench.” Isaiah 42:3

August 28 – Pray that God would strengthen us to love our neighbors with wisdom and sacrifice. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8

August 29 – Pray that our love of God would grow. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.” Luke 10:27

August 30 – Pray that the Lehigh Valley would be turned upside down and changed through the preaching of the biblical gospel. “They dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, ‘These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also.’” Acts 17:6
