Mission and Vision

Building Gospel Communities

We’re all messed-up. Only Jesus can change us. And he changes us as we look to him together.

The Vision

In Matthew 16, Jesus authoritatively declares his vision to build a community. This radical, world-changing community, Jesus said, will be based on the equally radical, world-changing truth of who Jesus actually is and what he has done. We exist to be a part of Jesus’ vision of building communities centered on the good news of who he is.

Meet the Pastors

Paul Wilson

Lead Pastor
Paul and his wife, Laura, love coffee, books, the Lehigh Valley, crying through This is Us episodes, cheering the Pittsburgh Steelers, and laughing at GIFs they send each other. They are blessed with three very young and energetic sons (Asher, Kai, and Charlie) and have a heart for adoption. As a family, they enjoy learning the New City Catechism, playing games, and laughing for no apparent reason.

Brennen Sullivan

Outreach and Discipleship Pastor
Brennen and his wife, Nicole, love their two boys, Paxton and Theo, who make their days very exciting and full.  They enjoy family time, discipling their boys in family worship and daily events, exercise, and walks.  Brennen loves relaxing with Nicole, playing “mean Roman soldier” with Paxton, and joyfully screeching back and forth with Theo.

Don Meadows

Children's Pastor
Don is blessed to be married to his best friend, Liz (since 1993). Don and Liz have two children: Allen (born in 1997) and Amanda (born in 1999). Don enjoys making movies with his son, Allen, and watching most sports (but particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers!).

Zach McAlack

Young Adult Pastor
Zach and his wife, Leah, love living in the Lehigh Valley. Their son Wilbur was born in February 2019. Zach grew up playing drums and enjoys exploring the outdoors, listening to old jazz records, watching movies, playing video games, and training for obstacle course races.

What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Calvary Baptist Church - PA based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe that there is one God. He is perfect and is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Bible

We believe the Bible, both Old (39 books) and New (27 books) Testaments, to be verbally inspired and inerrant in the original writings, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, the complete, necessary, and sufficient revelation of His will for man’s salvation and conduct.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man in His incarnation. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death for our sins through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection from the dead for our justification, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father in heaven, where He intercedes as our High Priest.

His Return

We believe in the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Man and Sin

We believe man was originally created in the image of God. Through disobedience, self-centeredness, and sin, he incurred both physical and spiritual death. Thus, all are now born with a sinful nature, separated from God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of Jesus Christ.

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who believe and are saved will be resurrected into an eternity of life spent in God’s presence, in His distinct joy and bliss. All who are unrepentant and unbelieving are lost unto the resurrection of damnation, a Christ-less eternity of conscious torment in hell.

The  Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that the Church consists of all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Local Church

We believe in the local Christian Church as the primary and sufficient vehicle initiated and founded by God through the power of the Holy Spirit to nurture new believers in faith, disciple mature believers, and evangelize the lost. Local Christian Church members join together for worship, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, and observance of the ordinances of believers’ Baptism and Communion instituted by the Lord Jesus.

The Comission

We believe in the Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord to the uttermost parts of the earth and to make disciples, thus giving man the Word of God in truth.
