What is worship like at Calvary?
Calvary’s worship style is mostly a balance of contemporary hymns and choruses, plus some traditional hymns. Preaching and teaching the Bible are central in all of our services. Calvary is dedicated to bring the good news, “the gospel” to all who cross our path.
What should I wear?
Wear what you feel is comfortable and appropriate for worship. Our congregation covers a broad spectrum of age and background. Some prefer to dress up while others prefer to dress down, but we’re all here for the same reason — to focus our hearts and minds on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Are there activities for my young children during the services?
We have an active children’s ministry. See our Children’s Ministries information.
Calvary’s Children’s Ministry, Cape Calvary, has a place for every child to learn about Jesus. Our leaders and children’s ministry volunteers are trained in teaching children of all ages about Christ’s great love for them and are dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for them to grow in the loving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior and you have a desire for children to know Him too, we’d love for you to join us in the incredible and rewarding adventure of raising kids for Christ.
What about my older children?
Calvary’s Student Ministries exist to provide teenagers and young adults with the opportunity to discover God’s purpose for their lives. Both Middle School students (grades 6-8) and High School students (grades 9-12) will find Sunday School classes to deepen their knowledge of the Bible. See our Student Ministries.
Where do I park?
We have ample parking at our location on Green Pond Road.
Will I be conspicuous?
Only if you choose to be. We have a Welcome Center in the lobby where people will give you a visitors pack and help guide you for the morning activities. We also have a Guest Reception where you can meet a couple pastors and friends from the church after the services.
If you wish, you can just walk on by the booth and right into the sanctuary. No one will ask you to stand up and introduce yourself.
What other things are available for adults on Sunday morning?
Before or after the Sunday morning worship service, you may want to join a Community Group. Community Groups meet on Sunday morning on campus, or during the week at people’s homes. For more information, see our Community Group information.
What is the preaching like?
Its important to us that the preaching is right from the Bible. The preacher explains the passage, and applies it to our lives today. Listen to some of our past sermons.
