Calvary has been committed to glorifying God through Great Commission Outreach here and around the world for more than 100 years. We are intentional about taking the Gospel into the world outside out doors, serving those in need in our community, country and the unreached living beyond our borders.
Our passion is to make Christ known. We do that locally by introduce kids to Christ through our Vacation Bible School Program. We also partner with Child Evangelism Fellowship and hold Bible Clubs in local schools and serve the needy in our community by offering food through our Food Pantry Ministry and hot meals to those attending Ripple Church of Allentown.
There are many in our nation who have yet to encounter Christ. Through our partnership with World Servants, we annually send work teams to Philippi, West Virginia, to help the impoverished living in the Appalachia region of our country make needed home repairs. When disaster strikes, the people of Calvary respond. Most recently, we sent teams to Breezy Point and Staten Island, New York and Ocean Grove, New Jersey to help with Superstorm Sandy Cleanup and restoration.
We send out career missionaries doing the work of Bible translation, church planting, medical missions and discipleship. Some of that work takes place in the United States, but much happens in unreached places of the world. We also send our own Short-Term Mission Teams. We have long-standing partnerships with pastors and leaders in Merida, Mexico, Szentendre, Hungary and Assam, India. Our teams run youth outreach camps, teach English and provide Biblical and discipleship training. Mostly, our love and commitment returning to work alongside our brothers and sister in Christ encourages them in the often difficult work they are called to do.
